2024 — 2025 · DATA & POWER BI

From Excel reporting
to Power BI.

Centralising data and automating reporting for the agencies

I contributed to rebuilding TC Concept’s management-control reporting. The goal was to move away from repeated Excel file handling and manual processing, and create a central data foundation for refreshed Power BI views.

01 — THE STARTING POINT

Slow reporting
with fragile routines.

The project had two workstreams. First, agency managers’ Excel charts for performance tracking and data governance had to be rebuilt in Power BI. Second, the budget workbook required a deeper overhaul: many tables and formulas, VBA macros and separate data sources had to be brought together, formatted and sometimes pre-calculated. The logic was then simplified to make the reporting more coherent and sustainable.

WORKSTREAM 01 · AGENCIES

Performance & data governance

Rebuild in Power BI the Excel charts agency managers used to monitor performance and data-governance indicators.

WORKSTREAM 02 · BUDGET

Rework a complex workbook

Bring together multiple tables, formulas, VBA macros and distinct data sources.

DATA PREPARATION

Consolidate & simplify

Format the data, pre-calculate where needed and simplify the logic for coherent, maintainable reporting.

02 — THE TRANSFORMATION

A shared data foundation
for all agencies.

I helped build a cube bringing together TC Concept data needed for management control, then rebuild the existing management views in Power BI. This gave the group’s agencies a shared reporting tool backed by structured data and automated refresh.

03
Refresh and shareAutomate refresh and make the views available to the group’s agencies.
03 — CONTRIBUTION

From data to team
adoption.

The work combined understanding agency managers’ and management-control needs, organising heterogeneous sources, rebuilding the charts and reworking the detailed budget logic in Power BI. I also supported teams as they got familiar with the new views; this was onboarding support rather than a formal training course.

DESIGN

Start from usage

Identify required outputs and preserve the management view teams rely on.

MODELLING

Structure the data

Contribute to the cube and model feeding Power BI reports.

ADOPTION

Support users

Help users become familiar with the new views and refresh process.

PROJECT TAKEAWAY

This work connected data structuring, reporting and day-to-day operations: dashboards are useful when their data is organised, kept up to date and readable for the teams who use them.
